Formline works without a required account and keeps each kind of data within the boundaries described below.

The short version
Formline does not require an account for training. We do not run advertising, sell personal information, or use your workout history to build an advertising profile.
Formline and private iCloud
Workout history, personal programs, training preferences, and manually entered training-profile data are stored on your iPhone and sync through your private iCloud account when available. Nutrition entries, nutrition targets, Apple Health imports, and Health-sourced measurements are excluded from that sync.
Nutrition and food catalog searches
Nutrition entries and targets stay on your iPhone. A food search sends the search term or scanned barcode, language, and a random app-install identifier to Formline’s food catalog. Workout, Apple Health, and profile data are not included. The catalog uses the query to return matches; operational logs record request timing, query length, token count, and result count, not the search term, barcode, or install identifier.
Apple Health
Apple Health access is optional. If you allow it, Formline can save completed workouts to Apple Health and import workout details that iOS permits. This information is handled through Apple’s HealthKit framework and stays subject to your Health permissions. You can change those permissions at any time in iOS.
Compete
Compete is optional and uses Sign in with Apple plus private iCloud sharing. Invited people can see your challenge profile, challenge dates, and credited Formline workout totals. Exercise details, weights, body data, nutrition entries, and Apple Health records are not shared in a challenge.
Subscription
Formline memberships are auto-renewable subscriptions purchased and managed through Apple’s App Store. Formline does not receive or store your payment-card details; Apple handles subscription billing for your Apple Account.
Support email
If you choose to contact support, we receive your email address and the information you include so we can answer and resolve your request. We keep it only as long as reasonably needed for that purpose. Please avoid sending sensitive health or payment information.
Retention and deletion
Local training and nutrition data remains until you delete it or remove the app. Private iCloud training records remain until you use Delete Training Data. Compete records remain until you delete or leave a season or delete your Compete profile; offline removals are queued and retried. Apple Health keeps its own records under your Health settings.
Your permissions and controls
You can change or revoke Health, camera, notification, and iCloud access in iOS Settings. In Formline, you can delete training and nutrition data, remove individual history items, or delete your Compete profile. Profile deletion removes owned seasons, leaves joined seasons, and clears the local Sign in with Apple identity only after those removals complete or are durably queued.
